This is an interactive exhibit which was conceptualized for the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. It showcases an interactive screen designed by me, set on the floor beside an actual life sized WW2 Boeing B-29 Super-fortress. The screen is touch activated and shows each different part of the plane. The goal was to create various screens to show where the crew sits, where they fire the guns, where the fuel is, etc. The project was driven to create an accurate, historical representation of another generation’s technology and tell the story of the plane and each crew that lived their lives inside each plane during the war.

All of the graphs shown and each diagram of the plane was illustrated and created by myself.

Process

This project was extremely difficult in a number of ways. With each challenge came research and precise actions.

Challenge number 1 was to connect to my audience.

Challenge number 2 was the research of the B-29 diagrams and finding the correct layout for each layer.

Challenge number 3 was to create the infographics within the pages, such as information about the crew and information about female involvement in the construction of the planes and the construction process of the planes in-general.

To solve these challenges I acted with deep studies, creating multiple moodboards to accurately connect with my audience an find reference for materials. I spent lots of time gathering data and diagrams about history and the plane itself.

The main themes I developed were the white on black color scheme to show the matureness of the subject and imagery consisting of black and white photos to warp the audience back into that moment in history.

Each different layer that was interactive such as ‘weaponry’ had a different coordinated color scheme. The colors fit each subject they were connected to with red representing death and aggression in the ‘weaponry’ layer of the plane.

  • Internet Traffic Infographic

How much time during your life do you spend on your phone or computer compared to other tasks? This project is an infographic showing statistics about the rise of internet traffic and all things about the internet.

  • Evolution Typography

To concept a design for a car wrap sometimes you need additional graphics. This project was all about developing an alphabet tailored to be wrapped onto a project car and make it really stand out.

  • Smithsonian Interactive Exhibit

During 2024, the B-29 bomber was added to the cluster of aircrafts at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. This project shows all digital screens installed along with the physical plane in the exhibit.
